I spent over three years in management consulting in the US, advising Fortune 500 companies on how to build better systems. Meanwhile, I was quietly building one of my own — a life stitched together across cities.
Here's the thing about your twenties: your people end up everywhere. After college, my best friends scattered across the world — San Francisco, New York, Stockholm, Barcelona, Hong Kong, and more. Suddenly my favorite hobby was going to the airport. I'd fly out on a Friday just to crash someone's Monday trivia night, be a plus-one at a party where I knew no one, or sign up for a dance class and completely humiliate myself. Worth it every time.
But here's what I didn't expect: the best nights weren't the Eiffel Tower or the must-see museum. They were the random Tuesdays when you start dancing with strangers and somehow end up at three more parties by 2am.
I've moved countries twice — from home to the US for college, then from the US to London — both times knowing no one. What I've learned is that a city is only as good as the people you know in it.
That's why I left consulting to build Invicity. We've already hosted Invicity Nights in London, with members flying in from other countries just to be there. And this is only the beginning.
